Books!!!!

Yes I'm back, after abandoning this dear old blog for almost half a year.

I have reasons
but not important and not convincing

yet, I'm back
and that's what that matters.

What I've wanted to say now, after half a year is that I wanted to write about anything I want and not just specific topics.

I've been reading alot lately, during my summer holidays.

My Sister's Keeper by Jodin Picoult
The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank
re-reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling (duh.)
A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

My Sister's Keeper is a great one. Touching, lovely and sad about the Fitzgerald family filled with endless problems and tantrums. Kathy had leukemia since she was still a little kid. Her parents, Brian and Sara then planned to have a new baby, Anna, so that she can provide whatever Kathy needs when she needed them. Bone marrows, blood, etc. It was heart breaking when Kathy's first love died!!!! And that part about Sara shaving of her hair when Kathy went upset as she lost all her hair due to having treatments at the hospital was touching indeed. The pain the Fitzegerald went thru is unbearable, I totally hope this won't happen to anyone on earth! But the ending was quite dissapointing, I reckon Anna shouldn't have died, even she did, I didn't think dying that way was ... satisfying..? Haha, but altogether, I rate it 8/10. Worth reading, I wish people who had good and healthy families but still have many to complain can get something out of this book.

For those who don't prefer books, you can watch the movie also named My Sister's Keeper directed by Nick Cassavetes. Cameron Diaz did a well job being a quite mental mother, it was good, too. Except it cut out a character from the book, Julia which was quite somebody. Overall, I give it 8/10 too!

The Diary of Anne Frank
I've heard about it since high school, when studying World War II and since then I was interested in her. It is a real diary written by of course, Anne about her life hiding as Nazis were hunting for Jews. The diary, name Kitty was founded after Anne and her family were betrayed and taken away. The whole family of four, only the father survived. I haven't quite finish it yet, as it wasn't what I expected. I thought there would be plenty of facts talking about the war, but instead it had not much details about the war as she was always in hiding. But what I think that makes this book popular was because of her, Anne. She was no more than 15 years old but  her thoughts are strong, mature than anyone at her age. Her philosphy, I should say, was totally from herself, as there were no Google those days and all she had was a radio and few friends that help her and her family hide. She was strong, and I believe stronger than anyone in her family.
Quite a few things amazed me from her diary. For example, when she found out how the Jews were terribly killed and tortured she wrote "Must I keep thinking about those other people, whatever I'm doing? And if I want to laugh about something, should I stop myself quickly and feel ashamed that I am cheerful? Ought I then to cry the whole day long? No, that I can't do." and "It won't do us any good, or help those outside, to go on being as gloomly as we are at the moment." If this phrases were in a storybook or a fiction, it would mean lesser. But this was Anne's word, she was 14 when she wrote this. And i truly respect her for being so rational. People really do always think like that, being gloomy at one's funeral and forbid people to have a reason to laugh. And once, Anne wrote "I love Mummy and Margot( her sister) ,but because they are Mummy and Margot." She wasn't going well with her mother and sister, people always think Margot is the good and sweet one because she is always obedient. Not like Anne, who likes to fight back when she doesn't approve. Well, this is an answer for also, people who had family fights. I think we should love our friends and family because they are them, and that's what I call those who love me no matter how I treated them true friends, and family, no doubt I love them because of who they are.

This is not a very dramatic book, but worth reading and understanding. Quite alot to learn from her.

Ahh...quite exausted.
I guess I'll countinue the other two books later.

Hope you enjoy it.

A bad gesture. (Not suitable for under 18)

Don't know why but I'm suddenly in the mood.  All pictures from google.

This is a style, a culture. In my opinion, women did it better than men.

Reminds me of Avril, Pink and many bad ass female singers which are all my favourites.

Live your life and give those who makes your life miserable a gesture.

LOVE.

Never thought I would every write a blogpost about this.
I never knew love. or at least I know I don't know.

Besides family love, friendship, and friendships. I have NO comment, NO confidence, NO dreams about LOVE.
Yes I was hurt before, blah blah blah. Whatever.

I was editing my housemate+best-friend-forever, TK's photos I took on her birthday.
and then I found out, love isn't really hard, isn't really hmm...what's the word?  Ah. Complicated.

See and feel.

What more can I say?  Spending the time with them makes me feel comfortable, makes me realize LOVE IS POSSIBLE. It doesn't only depends on the right time and right guy, it mostly depends on your right thoughts and mentality.

For my beloved friends who lost love lately and for those who lost faith in love (Am i talking to myself?)
I hope we can all find true and simple love one day.

By the way, check out the other photos I've taken with my Nikon D90.

Happy birthday my dear friend TK, wish you happy forever.

Once again, cheers to Love. *Tink*

House da House!

Check this out.

Was exhausted as my practice didn't go well just now. then I hook up on Youtube and found them, Glass Hopper from Japan. I've always liked house dancing, love that grooving and that loooooose feeling but I can't really find friends to talk about it much. It's abit hard to understand when you first see that kinda dance. Same to me too until I saw this routine. Dancologist, Malaysian female crew, they totally rock it at the last part! Although the house moves aren't REALLY obvious but the combination of waacking and house is really very creative and impressive! Never knew house dance can evolve to be so...... interesting!! This is arts ,this is!! (nodding head)

back to the Glass Hopper, gosh, I really love them. A bit of toprock, bit of locking, bit of breakin and a whole lot of House dancing, ahh...that brightens up my day!

Colours!

Here in Malaysia, high school students does not have the freedom to dress anything they wanted to school. We have our uniforms, school shoes and we totally have no chance to style up. I think this is the reason why Malaysia's fashion never really trend much.

To me, I started to fashion up after I graduated from high school. I'm not that kind of girl that would woo over classy brands like Chanel, LV, etc (you know). I wear what I think that is nice ( and of course within my budget i‘m just a student.duh.).

Colours, I love them. =)

Ah... that patchy long skirt is one of my favourite. Bought from Ethnic store, Times Square, Kuala Lumpur. RM 99.
Hat from little sis, black singlet from Cotton On, Watch from Nooka (my sis won it).

I really like bright colours, they make me feel like I'm shining. XD
Jacket: someplace in Times Square Berjaya, Kuala Lumpur.
Pink Tee: gift from friend in Taiwan.
Pants : Hong Kong!

Tee: cache a chche, Sunway Pyramid, Kuala Kumpur.
Scarf: Mum's wardrobe.
Black rocker bracelet: Sis's accessories box.
Deep red leggings: Taiwan/
Eyewear: somewhere in Melbourne, cost only AUSD 2!!!

incase you haven't notice, I've got a set of headsets there, from audiotechnica, Taiwan.
cool ones, it's changable. like that:

Colours colours colours! I heart colours.

SOUR me . Chambers Restaurant, Seremban 2.

YEAH! FOOD!

I was aiming to post something about fashion as my first post. But I "accidently" went into a quite nice restaurant today and I decided to blog about FOOD when I first step into that restaurant.

CHAMBERS  , located at Seremban 2, Malaysia. I've heard about it for quite a long time but never really went inside. People say it is the most elegant restaurant in this little town. Well it didn't dissapoint me. Have a look:

The outside.

The inside.

 Looks nice, huh? =)

Now, for the food.
I'm a girl with HUGE appetite, I can eat REALLY much!
And for today, I ordered Butter Lemon Sauce Grill Fish as my main dish, mushroom soup & a mocktail called Sunshine.

The Grilled Fish was topped with cheese and adorned with baked potatoes, my all time favourite! It was quite good, the fish was grilled nicely and the cheese powder really helps the dish taste superb! The mushroom soup is solid enough that I understand why it's price are a bit high. And for the Mocktail named Sunshine, it's a mixture of apple, lime juice and mango.  SOUR is what I feel like having today, but both the drinks and the butter lemon fish makes it abit over-sour.

What interests me most is a drawing on the wall.

I have no idea who drew this, and what does it mean. But I do really think it is attractive. I somehow managed to notice more about arts after a semester at university (oh yeah, forgot to mention that I'm now studying at a art university, majoring in Music.) My girls and I were guessing, maybe these two ladies are lesbian, haha. But after all, art means no meanings at all, it depends on your way of seeing and understanding, right?

We had dinner for almost 3 hours without noticing how fast the time passed. I guess with the delicious food, comfortable surroundings and relaxing songs from the 70's, time simply flies.

To conclude, I give 7/10 for the food here, 7/10 as well for the designs and atmosphere here.

Hope you guys enjoy it,
Happy Chinese New Year!
